Anions in everyday life

In this article, we look at the properties of anions. And find out if anions are useful in everyday life.

Anions in everyday life: Physicochemical definition of anions

All matter in the world is made up of atoms. Atoms are made up of an atomic nucleus and electrons. The nucleus contains protons and neutrons.

Of these, the proton is the positive potential. The electron is negative potential. How do you judge whether it is positive or negative? Compare the number of protons and electrons in an atom. So, we determine whether the total potential is positive or negative.

In the previous article, I briefly explained a chemical theory called the octet rule. Most atoms have the number of electrons as 2, 10, 18, etc. according to the octet rule. So the number of protons matches the atomic number. On the other hand, the number of electrons can be less or more than the atomic number. And most atoms have a difference in the number of protons and electrons.

So, if the atom has more protons than electrons, it has a positive potential and is a cation. Conversely, if the number of electrons is more than protons, they have negative potential and are anions.

In other words,'ion' is an atom that has a positive or negative potential. Only the number of electrons differs between ions and atoms.

Anions in daily life: the source of anions on Earth

In the clean air outside, there are 250~300 anions within 1㎠. Most of the anions on Earth are carried by the solar wind and come from the sun.

Therefore, there are more anions outdoors than indoors. Even the streets in downtown are more than clean interiors.

Anions in everyday life: Implications of having more anions outside than indoors

Here we come to a useful enlightenment in our daily life. It is said that free radicals destroy brain cells. When a general office worker is overworked, a large amount of free radicals is generated in the brain. As soon as these free radicals are generated, they destroy brain cells. This will cause a headache.

However, anions are the most powerful means of removing active oxygen in nature. Therefore, it is not a good idea to stay indoors and relax. It is much better to relax while breathing in the outdoor air.

Isn't it refreshing when you work in a stuffy room and then go outside to get some air? It is often said, “I go outside to get some air”. To be precise, it was to go outside to breathe anions.

You also have to have a hard week and take a break on the weekends. At that time, it is not good to lie on the living room sofa and watch TV. It's a tough body, but it's much better to lead it out and take a break.

Anions in daily life: Measuring anions

Below is the measurement result of an FTV documentary using an anion meter.

※ Anions per unit area: Office, house: 1 times / City street side: 1.5 times / Natural recreation forest: 4 times / Reservoir: 5 times / Beach: 12 times

Mondolly will interpret this result arbitrarily. The levels of anions transferred from the sun to the surface will be close to natural recreational forests. Then it comes to the city street. There are car exhaust fumes. Dense humans breathe. Because of this, anions are consumed and the anions level decreases.

In other words, the exhaust gas contains a large number of cations. Anions are consumed to meet anions to form a third substance.

In other words, humans breathe. Anions are absorbed by the body. There are no more anions in the air from exhalation.

Likewise in the office, humans consume anions through breathing. Outside, anions are continuously supplied from the sun. On the other hand, anions are supplied to the room only when the window is temporarily opened for ventilation. Therefore, the anion level is the lowest.

And reservoirs and beaches have water, a source of anions other than the sun. So, anions are higher than those of natural recreational forests. Water breaks down and some of it becomes negative. The anion levels are far higher on the beach than in the reservoir. The reason is that the water breaks down as the waves hit the seashore rocks.

So, in nature, the highest anions are below the waterfall. It is said that 100 to 200 times the number of anions comes out.

Epilogue

Above, we have learned about anions in daily life. You can see that the king of anions is a waterfall. However, even if it is not a waterfall, there are showers or rain. It is said that the anion level rises tremendously. Even if you only bring an empty fishing rod, we recommend that you take a fishing break with your family on the weekend. That's why. You don't even need to fish. If you play badminton with your children in the vacant lot in front of the house, will the fatigue of the week go away. :)

What happens when these anions meet free radicals. In the next article, we'll cover this in detail.

Thank you for subscribing so far. I was Mondolly~ :)
